Welcome to the AP Psychology Home Page. As you know (or will find out shortly) this course is a survey course, very similar in depth and speed to most college psychology 101 courses. We will go through many of the topics that psychology has to offer. We will not spend a great deal of time on any one topic. This means that this course offers a fast paced, real life learning environment. I have 3 goals in teaching this class: 1. To understand the general principles of psychology. 2. To critically analyze the world around us using the scientific method and our knowledge of psychology. 3. To learn, understand and better views topics of psychology through a hand on approach to teaching. This class answers the age old question: "why do I need to know this stuff, I am not going to need it outside of school". WRONG!!!!!!! This is going to be one of the most real world, relevant classes that you will take during your scholastic career. This class differentiates itself between the SUPA course and General Psychology course being offered by the in depth study on the topic. The course is going to be driven based off of homework's done based off of readings of a college level textbook and on the analysis of the students. There are separate requirements for the courses. While it is not required, it is recommended that you take the AP exam given in May. Please click on the links above to examine what the course ahs to offer as well as an analysis of what the AP exam is and if it is for you to take.
