Principal's Message
Winter 2008-2009

Dear Nassakeag Families,                                            

We would like to extend our wishes for a joyous holiday season.   Nassakeag students, staff and families have been very busy with many worthwhile community and charitable events. 

Our Student Council has participated in a Treats for Troops Drive to collect essential items for service men and women in Afghanistan.  In order to ship the items to the troops our Shared Decision Making Team and Student Council created the Postage for Patriots activity.  Thanks to the generosity of our families and staff we were able to raise over $300.00 to ship about 23 boxes to Afghanistan. 

The fifth grade classes, under the direction of teacher Mrs. Cocco, collected over 350 coats to distribute to families in need.

The Justice Club and Student Council will be taking part in the annual Holiday Electric Parade to brighten the holidays for our community. Our 6^th graders made a beautiful mural for this event again. 

Our Winter Concert will be held on December 17^th  to highlight the efforts of our talented student musicians and spread some holiday cheer.

Come January students in grades three, four, five and six will be very busy preparing for and taking the NYS English Language Arts Assessments.
